There is a wonderful article about Elizabeth Hawley in Outside Magazine this month. I'm curious to know if any of you who have climbed Mt. Everest ever had a chance to meet Ms. Hawley.

For a moment there I confused her with cricket WAG Elizabeth Hurley. That's a good story.

wonderful life story.

I did not meet her when there, but my friend Bob was annnoyed that her American accent was Anglicized. No wonder, Nepal was near or part of the former British colony of India, and there are still cricket fields to this day in Kathmandhu.

we should all be so lucky to find a hobby/career with passion.

Harvey,

Thank you for posting The Himalayan Database. I found Cindy Abbott's name under the Season Lists for Spring 2010.

I'm not sure what this means, but it might mean that she summited on May 23 at 9:00 am or her trek started on this day at this time. Not sure if it's 9:00 a.m. or p.m. I'll have to read more.

May 23 09:00 Ms. Cynthia Lou Abbott (USA)
