Oops! that would be Harvey's call.

We have rules!

Rules? In a knife fight? (Reference to a different Harvey)

Mt Cook was correctly ID'd by Wagga as 12316-feet tall, named for British Pacific explorer, Captain James Cook

good thing I did not ask for Mt. Aoraki. Harvey

What In The World Happened Here? XI:

What is the name of this building? What predicted event didn't happen here?

Sorry

At least I now know that big guy was Harvey, rather than just Jimmy Stewart's imaginary friend.

as for the latest quiz, what did not happen?
lunch at Dominics

Mt. Cook played K2 in the fine mountaineering film Vertical Limit in which Ed Viesturs played himself. The best feature of the movie was copious quantities of nitroglycerine, a material that all top-flight expeditions keep on hand for emergencies.

OK, the original Ed. From NZ, no less. I had a feeling at one point that I had a different Ed in mind than you did.

The flat kind. You could study the pavement. String theory, at least for the moment, appears to work if you postulate 18 dimensions - but it's a work in progress.

From the name of the building that replaced it, you would think it was at Wimbledon. The old name of this building got a Manhattan Transfer.

And the predicted event? The unit with the Cyrillic nameplate was never delivered. Although the American equipment almost was.

And I'm not too sure about that geometry clue, Wagga. I don't think this building reflected its surroundings the way the new one does.

That's the replacement with the double roof. I'm pretty sure the original squares the circle. Must confuse the owl.

Photo from 3/2005. But saltydog got it. Here's the wiki.

Cafe Ground Zero: Deadliest hot dog stand in the world. Scroll down for the owl.

That one was good and saltydog gets credit for a great answer.

Here is an easy one -- a place where something big actually happened.

The Pentagon one was so blatant. I could I have missed that?

Tung oil for furniture is not made at this site, but could be rubbed on all the trees that got knocked down.
