Dang it Wagga, I almost wore out my mouse once I figured out it was a picture. But it is neither a coyote nor a "koala to the Max". wink

In Knoxville, the University of Tennessee has the Tom Black Track. The track in the picture is the Black Tom Track.

The event involved secretive Germans.

I lucked out -- or you were nice enough to pick a round number anniversary.

What's they do, bomb the HMS Beagle?

Here is a map.

The Island to the east is, of course, Bedloe's Island. The Statue of Liberty arm was struck by shrapnel, and has been closed to the public ever since.

This is an interesting link.

This incident ranks with 9/11, Oklahoma City and Pearl Harbor on the terrorism scale, yet is not widely known.

My thoughts, too.

With that type of terrain, I'm thinking earthquake fault country, so possibly related to an earthquake.

One of the fundamental tenets of colonization is finding a better (easier) route through natural obstacles to resource-rich areas.

It has been a quiet month. This thread started on March 31, 2011. It is probably too early to let it die.

I've had to put this on ice for a while, due to a confluence of issues. My best friends are solid gold, the help they have given me is like a miracle. So now I'll have some time to research answers & prepare some more puzzles. And I also hoped that others would continue to post.

Wagga, several of us would appreciate a hint or two on this one.
