Snow is steadily falling in the Antelope Valley, according to a watch commander at the Lancaster Sheriff's Station.

"It's snowing pretty good, but it's not sticking -- not yet, anyway," he says.

When I was growing up in Palmdale, we would get a big snow about every 3+ years. I can remember one of them being something like 26", and the other one or two being in the 10" to 20" range.

If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them more than the miracle of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it.
- Lyndon Johnson, on signing the Wilderness Act into law (1964)
