Three Baldy Hikes in the last month. First was the Full Moon Hike. Next, straight up from the Ski Hut and this one, straight up under the Ski Lift. First Mile is 1300 foot elevation gain.....nice!
Summit was pretty cold, but not frigid. Light wind. Just a few people up there. Thunder and lighting all day. None too close. Great hike, as all three were.

Here's a shot of DJ. You can see the steepness of the trail and the parking lot in the background.

Here's at the top of the Ski Lift.

Once past the "Notch restaurant, we headed up the Devil's Backbone, then up to the summit.

Go Joe, Go! See Joe climb. Climb Joe, climb up the MR. laugh

You are going to power up the MR and just stroll down the MMWT for a burger & fries.

Yeah, I think Joe's a little too worried about the MR. He's going to post a trip report about how he powered up the thing, and ask what's the big fuss all about. grin In some ways, I think the main trail is even harder than the MR, just because of the distance.

Joe, you might want to try Mt. Muir if you have spare energy left while going down the main trail. You can say you've added another 14er to the checklist.

Hi Kevin.... last week we took the bowl, but my buddy DJ told me he would buy breakfast, so after the summit, we headed down the Devil's Backbone. We arrived at the "Notch Restaurant", breakfast was over, so we had burgers and took the lift. First time I'm ever done that.

I'm hoping to be healthy for my MR on Sunday..... I "tweaked" my back yesterday (feeding the dogs) and am taking some drugs as I write, sit, work, etc. I'm not the only one, my Marine buddy just backed out. He did his back in yesterday on base and can't stand straight. Even my buddy DJ tweaked his back yesterday....... must be going around :-) But, I'm still confident I'll be okay by Sunday as I'm otherwise ready physically.

And wazzu...... snow?

Here's the link to the NOAA forecast.

Look at all the pretty snowflakes. Friday looks to be sunny. Just in time to melt all the snow for your big adventure.
