To:         WhitneyZone members and friends,

Subject: Mt Whitney Hikers Association fund drive

We are opening up our first official fundraising period.

Our goal is raise funds significantly above our 2012 operating budget of $400 so that we can then donate to the Inyo SAR organization most of what we receive above that amount, with a minimal remaining excess left in the operating budget as a safeguard buffer in the event of any unanticipated expenses.

If you are a present member, we invite you to make a renewal donation; for everyone else, please consider contributing to our organization and becoming a member.

Although any amount is appreciated, $20 will give you the "WHA Member" title after your name when you post on the forum. Becoming a member will also give you access to the members-only forum.

There are two ways to make a tax-deductible donation:

First is through PayPal, just click the button below. If you have a PayPal account, you can pay through your PayPal account or bank. If you are not a PayPal member, you can use your credit card to donate.

The second method: Mail a check, payable to "Mt Whitney Hikers Association", to:

     MT WHITNEY HIKERS ASSOCIATION
     2760 COBBLER ST
     MANTECA CA 95337-8723

Thank you. We sincerely appreciate your support.

Donate to the Mt. Whitney Hikers Association

Clicking the Donate button will take you to a PayPal screen where you can donate either by PayPal or by credit card.

Friends and members,

We have received almost $300 in donations since we started our drive. If you are considering joining, or are already a member but haven't sent a contribution in the past year, it would be very much appreciated if you would help the association.

Thanks so much!

I really appreciate all the information and postings on this forum. I read all the tips for first timers and what can go wrong when planning our hike. Despite encountering rain, snow, hail, graupel, sleet, thunder, and lighting during the 8 days we were on the trail, we stayed safe and dry, had no altitude sickness, and summited early before the weather closed in and began to snow. This site and the advice posted by others were the primary reasons my husband and I were successful first timers on September 13th, 2011. We had such a great experience that I am already planning our trip back next year.

I made a donation and joined to show my support and gratitude to the association and the incredible volunteers at Inyo SAR.
