Although the pictures are taken from different vantage points and have varying degrees of obstructions (including a nasty false summit in the Spring photo)these are all of the same Castle Peak Ridge, my backyard. It is interesting that I have found myself participating in those "Whitney,
again??" conversations while perusing photos of someone's 200th summit of the same mountain; however, those very same pictures are proof that no summit is ever the same. I look at my beloved Castle Peak through the seasons -- from wildflowers to wild weather -- and it is hard to believe that this is the same mountain. In the Summer, I can make the ascent in less than 2 hours, today I could hardly find the entrance to the trail head. THe ever changing face of Castle Ridge.
