...as if you needed a "free" day, wagga. grin

(I often invite wagga along on trips to the parks, since he's got one of those ODP free passes.)

Yes.... Old Dude Pass

I think people from the YosemiteNews.info forum coined that term.

Yup. The official YosemiteNews.info name for that pass IS Old Dude Pass (ODP).

So....it comes in handy to hike with an Old Dude when in the National Parks (works for National Monuments, too)

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.

ODP might be local to Yosemite. Have always heard it referred to as a Geezer Pass elsewhere.

In addition to national parks and national monuments, it comes in very handy wherever national forests require parking passes. In my experience, they're more plentiful than national parks.

Geezer Pass from Ed Hartouni on Vimeo.

This should work on iPhones, etc, please report if you can see this on your mobile device.

I've run across several of these free admission days at National Parks over the years. Coincidentally, there almost always seems to be a group (Friends of the National Parks, etc.) going car to car with donation cans at the entrance stations. How very strange . . .

For $10, it makes sense to put one in each vehicle.
