I sure missed this one yesterday -- just before 8 AM. Did anyone hear it? It must have been streaking over the Sierra.

"I was out ... hiking in the mountains (and) saw this great, big, white ball streaming across the sky to the west," Ellen Pillard, a Reno resident, told the Journal. "Then it just disappeared." Minutes later, she said, she heard a "boom."

My mother, who lives in Reno, saw it. It was evidently quite impressive.

Nope, I didn't see nor hear it, I was sawing Z's at 8:00 a.m.

I did feel and hear the earthquake epicentered in San Juan Capistrano this morning around 10:00 a.m., it was quite a jolt. It felt like it picked up the building I work in and slammed it back down....just one quick jolt....it shook all the light fixtures...no harm, no injuries where I work. It was only 3.9 quake, most people including myself just kept on working, we hardly flinched even though it was a good jolt.

Something woke me up in Reno around 8:00 AM. I didn't figure out what it was until I saw this thread.
