Wagga......you are our OUTER SPACE EXPERT....I look forward to you updates on Outer Space missions....haven't seen one on CURIOSITY yet....

I bet you'll be the one of the first people to map out trails to the highest peaks on Mars.

Amazing....this brings back memories of when I was a kid and the USA was in a race with Russia to the moon. The shot of the parachute lowering Curiosity is so mind-BOGGLING ....that we can receive such amazing pictures from so far away documenting such a historic event......Hey..I hear if we were on Mars with our TV gear we could get all the TV channels ...I bet the Martians have been watching the Olympics...maybe we'll see Martians in the Grand Opening of the Olympics someday...wouldn't it be cool if the games were played on Mars someday....I wonder what kind of new games we could play on Mars???

I was watching on my screen at home. But I'm certainly geeky enough for that crowd.

This image comparison shows a view through a Hazard-Avoidance camera on NASA's Curiosity rover before and after the clear dust cover was removed. Both images were taken by a camera at the front of the rover. Mount Sharp, the mission's ultimate destination, looms ahead.

Mt Sharp is around 17,900 feet, which many of the posters on the board have reached. Getting to the trailhead is a bit tougher, though.

And I believe that the atmosphere gets a bit thin by 17,900'. Or even sooner.

And the oxygen thing probably won't work out so well, either.
