If the weather clears up I was thinking of hiking Langley this weekend via AP. Ive never done this trail but consider myself a decently experienced hiker. With all the horror stories lately I'm a little worried to do it alone. Are there many other people on the trail? Is anyone else planning on going this weekend where I can tag along?


I was planning on driving up from San Diego either Friday afternoon or Early Saturday and doing a day hike either Saturday or Sunday

You'll definitely see other people on the trail. I was up there two weekends ago, and we ran into several groups of people via New Army Pass. I met a lot of people who were going up via Old Army Pass, too, so you won't be alone.

If my experience from a couple weekends ago isn't reassuring enough, you can see on recreation.gov that all the 36 reservable overnight permits have been taken for this weekend. This excludes the day hikers but should be further confirmation that you'll run into other peeps.

I'll be up there with a couple friends this weekend. We're planning on camping at Cottonwood Lakes on Saturday night, and getting up very early Sunday to attempt Langley.

I think I'll drive up early Saturday from Socal and plan on waking up early Sunday to hopefully summit. I don't have an overnight pass so i will have to start from Horseshoe Meadow.
