Much better: CREST to Mojave ($16), then AMTrak from Mojave to Visalia ($30)

Wherever you go, there you are.

These suggestions are great! Gonna check out the Mojave one now. Gotta say the idea of a grand loop is growing on me now....

Too busy to do much and go far for long this year. I'm concentrating on getting into better health for next year. smile

1) Dayhiking the 9 peak traverse in the San Bernardino range is something I've wanted to do for awhile now.
2) North Ridge of Lone Pine Peak.
3) Maybe Clyde Minaret or Banner/Ritter.
4) Maybe Tyndall/Williamson.
5) Maybe Cirque Peak>Langley>Muir>Whitney>Russell combo.

I'm trying to do a trip every other weekend until my August Whitney trip. So far I have Mt. Baldy, Mt. San Jacinto, Mt. San Gorgonio, North Fork to the Pallisades, Desolation Lake, White Mtn. After Whitney I don't know what I'll do, maybe the Lost Coast Trail.
