We secured permit for the High Sierra Trail starting at Crescent Meadow on July 14 and finishing up at Whitney Portal on the 21st.

While a bit challenging getting there from Palm Springs we've got that worked out but getting home is still an issue. A few buddies have said they might be going that way and would be willing to drop off our van but nothing definite yet. I know it's still a ways out yet but I tend to plan in advance. Any suggestions on getting back from Lone Pine or someone going east to west where we can swap keys and meet up afterwards?

Crest to Mojave or Lancaster, Amtrak or Greyhound to almost anywhere from there

Wherever you go, there you are.

Here's the ESTA / Crest schedule, Mammoth to Lancaster. It only runs Mon-Wed-Fri.
Lone Pine: 9:40 am,
Lancaster: 12:45 pm.

Crest was the old name. Now it is ESTA (Eastern Sierra Transit Authority).
