Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Mountaineers Route Apr 28/29

Weather and conditions permitting, I am planning on being in the area and taking a shot at the MR. Anyone also planning on climbing the MR then? Thought a partner would be nice to go with if our timing, etc works.

I am still deciding whether I camp the night of the 28th or just do it as one day climb on the 29th - could be open to either and will have all my winter gear nevertheless.

Would have gone with you if I had known earlier and hadn't already made plans. Good luck and be careful if going by yourself.

I have friends heading up that weekend, so you will not be alone.

I do not know their exact plans.

I'm planning to be there 4/27 to 4/29, going for the summit on Sun with a party of 7.
Possibly Alabama Hills on Mon.

I am most likely going to pack in on the 28th (Sun) and make a summit attempt on the 29th, conditions permitting. I'm getting in town on the 26th; my usual plan is to aim to acclimatize and get my legs a bit before heading up. Are you planning on camping Sun night?

Ya pretty big group, my friend went a little crazy with the invites.

We'll more than likely spend Sat and Sun night at Iceberg Lake.
