Patrick (Lilbitmo) and I dayhiked Mt. Whitney and several needles & pinnacles last Friday (April 27th). We went up the Main Trail and down the Mountaineers Route. Here are some photos....they are all here:

Wow, you guys really moved! Thanks for the report and the pictures.

Is that a gps glitch on your route, or did you really run over to the base of Mt. Muir and back from the middle of the slope west of the switchbacks?

What time did you start, and get back?

Looking at your pics, saw this one at Trail Crest. Sheesh! How many people were up there?

That is a GPS WTF moment, it happens every so often. We started at 0400 and finished just before 9:00 pm. It was slow going down the MR. Conditions were terrible. Icy Snow in the middle part of the chute then landmine postholing the rest of the way, no fun going down...
