Could you move Ridgecrest closer to Rancho Cucamonga?

Hmmm...that is less time than it going to take my house to become beach front property, by about 480,000 years.

All things considered, 10,000 to 20,000 years is just a bit too long to wait for Ridgecrest.

Recently, I was looking at a map (okay, I admit, I am either reading a book or looking at a map) and when I looked at Ridgecrest, and how flat, hot, dry, desolate it was (did I forget any other negatives, Steve & Wagga?) I was thinking that my army service in the desert was not nearly as bad as it could have been...However, during a second glance, I discovered a unique property about Ridgecrest: it is nearly equidistant to the highest and lowest elevations in the contiguous US!

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.

Everybody! You owe it to yourselves and those you hike with to attend this seminar. I will do my best to attend. The folks at CLMRG know what they are doing and have valuable mountain wisdom to share with you.

Even if you have hiked the Whitney trail a hundred times or have done the MR dozens of times, you can always learn more.

Ask yourself: "Would I know how to perform a rescue of my companions in the mountains? Would I know what to do to ensure my personal survival?"
