It looks like the weather isn't going to cooperate this weekend for a whitney summit... I've been seeing mixed forecasts ranging from 2-12inches of snow.

2-4inches doesn't bother me, but more than that and I'm not prepared. Not looking to get stuck in a larger storm than Im comfortable with...

I guess I'm answering my own question, I probably should attempt whitney this weekend. But that brings my next question... any recommendations for a strenuous weekend climb within 4 hours of LA?

I'm thinking San Gorgonio as I haven't done that one yet. Or possibly even the cactus to clouds. If you guys have any other recommendations or can talk me back into doing whitney please let me know.

I appreciate it and look forward to being an active member in the forum!

San G is good and can be very interesting depending on routing.

I like going up the ridge from Mineshaft Saddle or it can be a part of the a nine peak adventure starting at Angelus Oaks. I'm not big on Vivian Creek Trail...but that is me.
