Here's a nice video showing Mt Whitney from a Sail Plane glider, taken July 5, 2014.

This from 5:23     Click on it to see full size, and see much of the trail.

The two below show the north slope of Whitney, the Notch and the two Mountaineers Route routes to the summit: The Final 400, and Easy Walk-Off. The Notch is more easily identified in the first.

Very cool video, Steve. I nearly went frame by frame over the section in your stills, to compare with that great video you took on the walk-off last summer.

This is my favorite. That is quite the thermal they caught over Tulainyo and the Wallace Creek Drainage!

Thanks! I was just watching it again and again thru the morning! My mind and body want to be just there! Yes, for sure I will be there again this year! Training thru the hard winters of Chicago (this year yes, its like Alaska here). Thanks for sharing this eternal beauty of a mountain!
