Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Looking for hiking partner(s)

I will be in California for the summer and I want to hike Mt Whitney. I was able to get a single day pass for Saturday, Aug 8 in the mad scramble this morning; though I was hoping for an overnight pass.

-Long shot, but is there anyone who also got a pass for that day who would be interested in hiking together?
Is hiking alone safe?

- Is there anyone who has an extra for any weekend and would let me tag along?

Hiking the MMWT alone is safe, provided you leave an itinerary (start and expected finish). There have been incidences where someone started the hike and wound up missing or hurt.

I am sure there will be other hikers who are willing to hike with you on August 8. You might find hiker(s) who go at your pace.

You will definitely make new friends on the trail.

I currently am hiking alone, but have an extra pass for July 5th if interested in joining.

I have an overnight pass but it's for June 11/12. I am currently seeking other hiking buddies also.
