Coming back for another day hike up the main trail on Monday. The last time I was on Whitney was in 2010 with my son and RichardP, up the Mountaineers Route. I've had a a lot of great trips to the summit and trying for the summit, but life and a back injury has kept me away recently. A quick trip up to the Portal and LPL last month got the juices flowing again and and offer to fill in on a permit popped up, so here we go. I plan to stay at Horseshoe Meadows Saturday afternoon/night and at the family campground Sunday night. Probably the usual 0200 start up the trail Monday morning. Weather forecast looks okay, and hopefully we get back in time for a burger. If you see a guy in bright neon yellow trudging on the trail, say hello, I'm sure I'll be looking for an excuse to catch my breath.............................................DUG
