Heading up the MR in mid-May-- given the current snow conditions and temps (as well as the recent avy's along Lone Pine Creek) I'm thinking it would be prudent to rent beacons for those members of the group that don't already have them.

I was wondering if y'all might know of a gear shop in Lone Pine-- or really anywhere between SoCal and the park-- that might rent beacons? I've checked in with the REI in Tustin, which was a no go, and Sierra Elevation doesn't list them on their site either.

Thanks!

Have you looked into somewhere like OER? (https://www.oerentals.com) They ship just about anywhere.

I rented transceivers, probes, and shovels from SMI in Bishop. Check them out at www.sierramountaineering.com. The owner Kurt offered up a lot of helpful information far beyond what I read on the forums too.
