Hello Whitney Zone Forum.

Just joined and looking for some possible hiking partners for the June 15th-18th weekend.

My wife and I have our flights booked and having been keeping heavy tabs on the conditions. We are experienced snow hikers with spikes / light crampons but not necessarily with heavy crampons and ice axes.

So i guess my questions are:

1. Is anyone planning on going this weekend that might be willing to partner up with us first timers? We are planning on heading out 4-5 am On Friday morning, camping at Trail Camp (Or Outpost, not too sure) and then attempting summit around 5 am on Saturday morning and hiking back down, but camping and taking an extra night if need it.

2. Are we fooling ourselves with the "chute" in terms of experience after trail camp?

Obviously we hope the conditions improve a bit before that weekend but preparing for the worst.

Sorry for the essay!

Cheers,

Robert

Robert,

I will be there 14-17 June, happy to link up with you at Trail Camp and share notes/thoughts/etc. We are hitting the trail tomorrow afternoon and staying at Outpost Camp. We will shift to Trail Camp on Thursday morning with possible summit attempts on Thurs and Friday. We will head back down the mountain on Saturday. Our group size is five people and have some first-timers flying in to join us as well. Not sure of the best way to meet up, but if you want to look for an orange/grey Big Agnes tent, or wander around talking to folks, I will be happy to chat and swap stories with you on-site. Stay safe,

- Nick

We will be starting our Summit attempt early Saturday morning, so hopefully we will see you at Trail Camp on Friday afternoon to chat!
