If you know anyone qualified for one, who doesn't have one, the cost goes from $10 to $80 on August 27. It was set at $10 in 1994.

They can be ordered online here for $20 until 8/27 (Extra $10 processing fee.) https://store.usgs.gov/senior-pass

It always puzzles me why they don't index prices like this to inflation. ...but then, $10 in 1994 would be under $17 today, according to this inflation calculator. So that's almost a 5X jump in price over the original. What the???? mad

Thanks for the Head's up. I had mine for several years but I'm going to get one for my wife. Chances are, she'll outlive me and will need her own card. There's a BLM office just down the road that sells them (no handling fees).
Thanks for saving me $70.

The LA Times just posted an article about this. Apparently there is only 5 days left before the price of the senior pass jumps to $80.

Come on all you young 62 and older people.

I did the same thing for my wife yesterday. The local BLM office was out of cards but gave us an IOU and took our $10. We should get the card next week. That office said they normally would sell a handful every month but this past month they sold over 200 cards - more than they had in their inventory.

Hiked Whitney on August 2, then drove up to Yosemite for a week.
When I got to the gate, I bought my senior pass for $10.
The ranger wished me a happy birthday as I just recently turned 62.
I love it.....only $10!! That pass stays in my wallet forever.

Mine has been in my wallet since I camped in Death Valley -- a few years ago -- and it's already cracked. At first, the gatekeepers would ask me to show my ID along with the card.
