A friend in ham radio suggested the trip. He could not make it so I went solo. I created a trip report on my web site:
Trip log Aug 26
My orig plan to spend 2 days above 8-10k' did not happen. Altitude got to me. I never felt short of breath- but my heart rate remained high when at rest and had very little steam. Also a mile from Trail Camp started losing equilibrium and feeling a little giddy. Sat, assessed, ate, drank, rested. Water filter on my short list of gear to buy (as a certified desert rat I do not own a water filter).
Wonderful experience!

Congratulations making the summit! How much did your ham equipment weigh?

Thank you! Radio gear weighed about 4lbs. Maybe a touch less. The KX2 is amazing and has internal batt and tuner (though I cut my antennas to not need a tuner when possible- tuners are compromise tools IMO)
