I hiked to Mt. Whitney quite a few times before, but this time I was able to fly over on my paraglider. We launched from Horseshoe meadow road (Walt's point) and then flew north.

Here is my video about this flight. Whitney area from the air is approximately from 4:30 to 5:30

PS: If someone managed to take pictures of us from the top, it would be great to get some. We was there around ~12:30 on 09/02/2017.

And you didn't land on the summit? smile

When I was at the summit a few weeks ago and thought I was alone, a climber appeared out of nowhere from a crack in the cliff side.

I can only imagine the surprise if someone landed in front of me in a paraglider. smile

No. That would be both dangerous and illegal. We're not allowed to launch or land in national parks or wilderness.
