Willie H posted on facebook that a coyote was observed at Iceberg Lake:

When I asked about it, he wrote:
Quote:
Surprised me too! Marmots sure, but I've never seen a Coyote at Iceberg, until last weekend. And it snagged a food bag and was running off with it, being chased by a climber yelling at it.

I saw a Coyote above 13,000’ when I was climbing Young and Hale in May of 1993.

I saw a large and very healthy Coyote hovering above Upper Boyscout Lake two weeks ago. I was very surprised to see them for the first time at altitude.

I saw cows grazing at 14,800 feet in Peru. So cows can adapt to that altitude and grass can grow there. The vegetation started to thin out after that on the way to 16,000 feet.

Life adapts. smile

Yeah I camped between Trail Camp and Consultation Lake a few years back and early in the morning a coyote ran right by my bivy. It woke me up, that's how close it came, and I thought it was an unleashed dog but realized it was a coyote.
