Hey guys,

Headed up this weekend, day permit for Saturday May 11th. We are a group of three, all of us first timers. My biggest concern is navigation, I have a GPX file for a “dry” trail but I have a feeling the route will be entirely different in the snow aside from just the chute. If anyone has or can point me to an accurate GPX for an ideal beginners route (not mountaineers) in snow conditions it would be very much appreciated! If not even some pointers would be very helpful. Thanks!

Nathan

Remember that nobody had a GPS until recently. We all managed the old-fashioned way.

You should have plenty of company this Saturday. While you will see plenty of stray tracks, they will more-or-less follow the “dry” trail. The only meaningful deviation from the trail will be the chute, and that will be obvious when you get there. Your GPS will keep you on track everywhere else.
