I'm thinking about camping at Onion Valley Campground this summer and doing some hiking.
What's the best way to book a site. And, how cold does it get at night in the months of July-Sept. Also, my schedule is flex so will I have much trouble finding an available site? Will they be sold out?
Also, do you recommend any other campgrounds? I'm looking for scenery and hiking.
Thanks!

In the past half of the sites are not reserved and provide sites for walk-in campers. Many PCT hikers utilize the campground to resupply.

Keep in mind that the drinking water has been turned off for the last 2 years.
