Sorry, I know that this is off topic! But I know many of you have hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and nobody on the "other" MW board responded to my question! I plan to do it in August, and can't decide which guide service to use. Any recommendations?

Wish I could help, DocD, but I was last in Peru in 1973. Still kicking myself for not going to Machu Picchu then, since my employer had paid my way to Lima.

I can recommend Countrywalkers.com, which has a good trip down there. My wife and I have done seven trips with them, in N. America and Europe. Local, safe, knowledgable guides, and nice accomodations. Might be a little pricey for some, but well worth the money.
