For the last month or so I've noticed that the weather in the afternoon over Mt. Whitney often seem threatening when compared to Mt. Williamson. I guess it has to do with angle of the shot, and orientation of the sun relative to the camera angle, but it sure seems to me the weather over Whitney sucks when compared to Williamson. Could this be true? A bit of a "micro climate"?

Well, here is something to compare both web cams: All the current and prior day's shots, on one page. Open them in two separate browser windows, and compare side-by-side:
Whitney webcam sequence     Willi webcam sequence

Before you declare a different micro-climate, consider the difference that distance provides. The Whitney webcam is zoomed in closer to the mountain, so you are seeing a much smaller rectangle of weather as compared to the Willi webcam, so clouds look larger.

But I am guessing there are local differences between the two mountains, regardless of our camera differences.
