Public is Invited to Attend Video Premiere on Sept. 8 to Honor Generous Valley Family at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, CA -- The Sequoia Parks Foundation and National Park Service invite the public to a premiere of a new video entitled, "Access for Everyone." This event will be held from 10:30-11:15 a.m. in the Lodgepole Visitor Center on Saturday, September 8. Refreshments will be served. The video, commissioned by the Sequoia Parks Foundation and developed by Convergence Media, will honor the Jeangerard Family of Madera, California, whose generous donations have supported trail work at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Over the past 5 years, through the Jeangerard Family Foundation, Jack Jeangerard and his family have donated over $500,000 to enhance park facilities and enrich park experiences. Specifically, their donations have funded:
  • Rebuilding of the popular Tokopah Falls Trail near Lodgepole Campground
  • Improved creek crossings in Redwood Canyon, the world's largest natural sequoia grove
  • Reconstruction of a critical part of the popular Rae Lakes Loop Trail
  • Improvements to the Zumwalt Meadow Nature Trail to make this popular trail much more accessible to people who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids, families with strollers, etc.
  • Funding of accessibility studies to identify possible trail improvements for the future at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks
For more information about the event, please contact the National Park Service at 559-565-3341 or contact the Sequoia Parks Foundation at info@sequoiaparksfoundation.org.
