A climber was killed in an accident on or near the North Palisade last weekend.

Awfully sad news.

On Monday afternoon, Sept 3, I was at upper Hamilton Lake, and a helicopter passed overhead flying in the direction of the Palisades, then returned a short time later. This was a day after the body was recovered, so may or may not have been related.

But it sure made the hikers at the lake solemn.

Condolences to the family, especially the brothers who had to witness that. I don't know how I would get over something like that.

The article says they were near the summit, but it looks like the posters are pointing to the "Catwalk". Definitely a lot of air at both locations regardless.

RIP.

EDIT: Weather could have played a role. It rained twice while I was out there. It looks like this happened two Saturdays ago. I left on Friday and it was pouring rain during the morning hours.
