current conditions Mountaineer's Route???

Planning to go up the Mountaineer's Route starting JUly 30. Can anyone tell me if it is snow free yet?

and the mosquitoes?

Late reply, but you can be sure it will be snow free by the time you hike. There is only a tiny bit of snow in the lower part of the main gully of the climb to the Notch.

It was a very dry winter, so by July 30, all wet areas will have dried up. There is only one area, around Lower Boy Scout Lake, that has any wet grassy area, so mosquitoes would only be there. You can get tiny 2 oz pump spray units of DEET at REI. I'd take one of those; or just use long sleeves, etc, in that area.
