Miles and Amy, the couple that helps Doug at the Whitney Portal Store, are making quite an impression in the technical climbing community. The AAC (American Alpine Club) has awarded them $1,000 to return to Chile and the Torres del Paine, to attempt a new route up the impressively huge granite peaks there.
On the other forum, Jeff M has set up a donation post for people to give them a little help. I think it is a worthy idea, so I am duplicating the setup here.
