Hello,

I am an avid backpacker. I thru hiked the AT, VT and 2/3 of the JMT. I would LOVE to do an overnight and then summit Mt. Whitney. If ANYONE cannot make it, I would deeply appreciate a wilderness permit. I will pay for the permit. OR you can try cancelling at the same time I log onto Rec.gov and do it that way. I dont think you would get your refund though doing it that way. not sure. I would love to join your group or do it solo. I am easy going, well traveled, well educated and always see safety as the primary thing to consider in any outing. I live in Visalia, CA Please email me at: michaelgallo@videotron.ca

thanks!!

Michael Gallo

Michael: A permit can't be directly transferred as you are suggesting. DO a little more research on this site, and youwill find that getting a walk-up, especially solo, is pretty easy.

Wherever you go, there you are.
