A 2 metre (only 6 foot) croc isn't much interested in eating anything larger than themselves.

A cassowary can actually be quite lethal.

2st 7lb is 35 lbs., or 16 kilograms.

A fortnight is two weeks.

"Jungle" could actually be tropical rainforest, but either can be challenging.

And "mum" is "mom"

She was found 100 meters from where she was last seen. The story also says 30 meters, but very close either way.

How to translate losing someone for 17 days within shouting distance? Difficult terrain, I know, but they got more translating to do, just saying.

People who get lost often keep moving, which is not a good thing.

Reminds me of the Yosemite bear they tracked for two days -- it traveled all over the place, and eventually returned to the place it started.

Definitely an amazing tale!

Probably a lot of really bad luck where they almost found her, but she somehow eluded her rescuers. I hope they do a follow up article to get the rest of the story. Keep us posted, Wagga.
