I have two permits for a single-day hike on September 19, and my hiking companion just bailed on me. I am seeking either (1) a hiking companion to join me on September 19 (I have a permit) or (2) to join an existing group hiking on the 19th (I'll be quiet and unobtrusive).

I'm a 59 y/o male, in decent physical condition. However, I'm slow (for reference, last week I hiked San Gorgonio via the Vivian Creek Trailhead in 11.5 hours round trip).

This is my second Whitney attempt. Last year I turned around on the switchbacks due to AMS (which, until my Whitney attempt, had never been an issue for me). This year, I'm taking Diamox and will spend two days acclimatizing before doing the hike.

I’ll hike with you. Text me. 310-487-7705. Sounds fun! I also have a great water filter we can use.

FYI - Tony and I could not connect in time to make it work (I was off the grid yesterday afternoon), so I gave up the extra permit. It’s now available for walk-ins.

I’m still interested in joining a group if possible.
