Bloody Mountain via Bloody Couloir
Saturday, April 15, 2017

Sherwin Creek Road was snowed in at 7300 ft, just before the turnoff on to Laurel Lakes Road. Brad, Izzy, and I were able to start skinning from the vehicles. We skinned up the road and then followed a minor drainage, but at 9000 ft had to descend a short ways back into the main Laurel Creek drainage.

After a few switchbacks at the bottom of the couloir, I switched to crampons and followed Brad as we booted to the summit. There were a handful of people ahead of us who set a nice bootpack up. After a bite to eat and a few pictures, we shredded back down and were able to ski almost all the way to the cars.
