Normally I wouldn't post about a routine hike, but I just wanted to make a few observations.

Trail was empty, just the mule deer and me. Very nice.

Absolutely no trash seen anywhere. Spent an hour at the lake wandering around and not one bit of garbage.

Final section of trail from Camp Lake to Meysan Lake has plenty of small cairns to keep you on a faint use trail to the top. Just keep angling to the right and up and follow the cairns to the flat saddle above the lake. Much easier to follow than years ago.

This a great alternate hike to avoid the lemmings on the MMWT and as a warm-up test hike if you are considering the North Fork / Mountaineers route.
