Actually these are from Saturday, when I peeked outside at 1130. In five minutes I dashed up to one of my workout roads in the Whites. Once I gained the ridge above the tower, the wind hit me full force, but I kept pushing up. At one point, I spread my arms into the wind and felt the lift, and I smiled. I was still teasing the weather gods.
I shot these in color, transposed to B+W, well, because Paul asked me to.
Other pics. For all the inbounds skiers, Mammoth has a lot more coverage than Sunday, but it was both warm there yesterday afternoon and extremely windy off the top. This will make good base everywhere if we can get a few more storms. For BC, watch the wind loading this weekend. The wet stuff may bond well, and the melt-freeze is pretty intense right now (icy pavement everywhere).
