Hey everybody. Doing Whitney in August and looking for a new pack. Did it in 2014 with a 15 year old EMS 5500 pack, which is about seven pounds. What do you think? Keep using it? Get a new one?

That's a big load! I just bought my third pack from Zpacks (first ones were fragile cuben fiber, new one is a little more durable). My latest is a customized "Zero", but for just a little more weight, the Arc Blast is sweet, at 21 oz.

It has a minimalist frame: two vertical carbon-fiber rods with a tension-created "arc" (thus the name) created by cinching down the vertical straps that span the mesh that touches the back.

I think this picture gives you the idea.
