BIG storm! 3 to 4 feet at Tioga Pass and the Sierra Crest. Two feet around Mammoth. People will be skiing for Thanksgiving -- should be nice.

The webcam views will sure change.

Just hope nobody is heading up any trails...

Expecting snow down to 1500' around here (typical of a Gulf of Alaska storm)

Really?! How far south @ 1,500'??

These low snow levels are for the foothills on the 50/80 corridor heading towards Tahoe, but I am not sure how far south this forecast extends.

Relax, CaT, give it a couple of days and we will want a report from you! grin

It is overcast here in Dutch Oven Country (San Joaquin Valley). Temps are a bit nippy.

If snow falls at 1500 ft in Fuggowhee (aka Coarsegold)...yeah buddy! Strange how we folks here in Cali like it when it snows. Yep, like to play in it...don't like to work in it...

Happy Thanksgiving to you, your wife, and your family.

Have fun...

11-19-10 1737PST:I would say about an hour from now, Reno/Tahoe will get "snowdozed."

Big Un
We get precipitation here in Fresno once in a while. We call it self-shoveling-snow.

It is pouring rain here in NorCal -- coming down in buckets; the wind is picking up, too.
If it's raining cats & dogs, don't step in a poodle.
BDA (battle damage assessment):

Rain, wind all through the night. Snow levels at 3,000. Heading to Oakhurst thru Deadwood.

All is beautiful up here!

Wrong thread, wagga! grin
As for battle damage: Flight out of Fresno was late due to weather, so missed connections to Chicago. Stuck in Vegas again.

Rather than stand-by at 11 pm, or get up at 3 A.M. to catch a 6 AM flight, we're going for an 8:45 flight.

On the good side, we got to watch the fountains at the Bellagio.

Several pictures...

Sierra west of Bishop

Glimpse of Mt Williamson, Mt Whitney and Tyndall

Watching the water show

The Bellagio and fountains

Big freeze on Whitney today. -1F and -33F with wind chill. It snowed a wee bit in Bishop last night. Icey roads north.
BDA: Snow levels 2,000 feet. Deadwood Grade south of Oakhurst dangerous. Inlaws report 3-4 inches of that white stuff fell at their place in Oakhurst.

Pretty awesome...

Steve, nice pics from up high! Mountains and fountains in one day!
Just talked to my Dad in Tahoe. He's got about 18" at his house at lake level
In Orange County, we've had rain nearly all weekend, I like it, it's nice to have some kind of seasonal change in the weather near the holidays. Hey, Steve, at the airport did you request the pat-down or the radiation?
Got the xray in Fresburg. Wife got that AND a pat down mad

And it ain't the passengers choice.
