Im headed up towards the the portal for a weekend of Training / Possible Summit attempt of the Mountaineers Route of Whitney this weekend.. We are looking for a few more climbers to join in the fun..

Headed out of LA this Friday night to car camp at the Gate and start Trekking Early Sat Morning. Depending on weather conditions we will set up basecamp at lower or Upper BoyScout!!

I may head up there Friday night from LA as well, if I go for it I will be going up the main trail though. Any idea how much snow dumped up there the last couple days?

not sure what the conditions are as of this week. I am planning on playing it by ear. Pretty sure the road is closed and it will be about a 4 mile hike to trailhead from the gate.

depending on how much snow there is the Main trail could be a LONG insane Hike but im always willing to give it a go!
