We are planning to leave Whitney portal at 12am trail running to Onion Valley by night fall the same day. Has any one out there done this before?

Haven't done it but it sounds like a blast. Count me in!

I believe Richard P and Moosetracks Laura did that several years ago, in the opposite direction. But they weren't trail running, and RP took the side trip to the Mt W summit. Maybe Moosetracks can fill in the details.
