We focus rather heavily on one rather-heavily traveled peak on this forum, and rightly so, as Whitney has it's own special brand of magic.

So, a thread where we can share other, less-heavily traveled magic places.

1) Nelder Grove.

"I love to come here when the sun is coming down," Negley says. "It shines on the top of the tree like a spotlight. There's a lot of those 'ah' moments. Sometimes you have to pinch yourself that you're standing beside this tree that's been here for so long."

This is in our "back yard."

Just go anywhere in winter. I can guarantee you, if it is white and high, it is less traveled.

Not my picture, but I've been there. Those are wild azaleas, and the Bull Buck tree.

No TR, no pics...

You have to see it yourself to believe that a place like this really exists in the SNF. You'd swear you went back in time.

I've led several Sierra Club outings to this marvelous place. So, yes, I've been there.

Maybe you and Steve and his family can come up for a visit at P38549 since the weather is getting cooler.
