This Friday marks the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and it runs for a whole month. As luck will have it I will be at Whitney Base Camp on Friday. We're hiking Sat/Sun. I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a bar/restaurant in Lone Pine that may be open at 7am on Friday morning showing the opening match South Africa vs Mexico! And I hope there will be other soccer or sports fans interested in watching this. Knowledge of a place to watch the matches (all on ESPN or ABC) could benefit hikers for the next month...
