PS This blog entry is from late Oct.
Hikers going the wrong way at this junction get reported every so often. Expect the usual flurry of posts demanding a forest of signs so this can never happen again.

Before my wife and I hiked Whitney the first time, I did a bit of reading about the trail. I was well aware of the correct direction at this junction. I also knew that a mistake was possible at the Lone Pine Lake junction. I really don't have a lot of sympathy for people who can't be bothered to learn something about the hike they are undertaking.
Can't be blamed on the signs any more. They are clear. Somebody was just not paying attention at the junction.
Yeah. There needs to be a STOP sign a hundred feet down the trail. I've written that a few times before. Fortunately most people survive their mistakes.
