1. Is the road to Cottonwood/Horseshoe Meadows closed for the season?

The site below says the campground is closed, but does that imply the road is also closed to get up there? It says mid-November is "usual" close date, but I know the variability of the weather could mean it could be still open.

2. Same question for the trailhead to Kearsarge Pass
1. No access , as in closed and 2. No access as road closed . Link... http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/inyo/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5192379 ....Geno
Best thing to do is call the Inyo County Road dept: 760-878-0202

Doug from the WP Store wrote today that the Portal road "Closed" sign is up -- the sign that warns people that they proceed at their own risk. He drove up, and reported some ice and snow up near the Portal.

Horseshoe Meadows is considerably higher -- pretty sure they will have closed it. I don't know about Onion Valley, but it is higher than Whitney Portal, too.

Edit: I see Sierra Angler beat me to the submit button. He's got better info.
ok thanks guys
