Is there any liquid water at UBS? Or is snow melting needed?

Thanks in advance,

Cameron.
I called the rangers about this a few days ago. She told me right now it's frozen and we should plan on melting snow. We're planning on re-filling all of our water at LBSL on the way up.

I'm headed up there on Thursday and will report back.
Relying on Rangers' advice, I have found, one will not always be pleased, but never unpleasantly surprised, and one will always be safe, and often be pleasantly surprised.
I camped there two nights ago. Plenty of fresh water at UBSL, but you should still be prepared to camp in snow.
Two things to know about melting snow:

Make sure your pot has some liquid water in it to start with. Just adding snow & turning up the heat will make your lovely titanium billy look like a Formula 1 car's exhaust pipe. Do use the lid.

Melting snow takes a lot of fuel. If the ice on the lake is not too thick, use your ice axe to access liquid water. You do have an ice axe with you of course...
