Dear All

My friends and I get permits for day hike in July 1, I'm now very concerned about the snow condition, I have some experience about snow travel in salt lake city, but now much, and my friends have 0 experience about that. My question is that do you think 99 switchback will be open or kind of trackable in July 1, or we have to hike up the chute directly? The chute looks so steep, if we have to hike up directly, then we need to think seriously about our trip. Any suggestions will be very helpful. Thank you so much!

It is likely that the switchbacks will not be useable by July 1, this year. I am guessing about mid-july before they are used.
